Based upon the pioneering role of the university in encouraging Palestinian sport, project implementation which service the Palestinian society , Al-Aqsa  University concludes the Universities Championship of  Volleyball and Table Tennis between the Palestinian universities  on the campus of Khan-Yonis which organized by the Palestinian Olympic committee under the auspices of Ambassador of Japan Mr. Takeshi Akobo ; attended by the deputies and members of the Board of Trustees, the Regional Director for the UNDP  in Gaza Strip Mr. Basem Naser, the academic and administrative staff , great number of  Sports officials  and students .

During the closing ceremony, the acting president of Al-Aqsa University  Prof.Ayman Sobeh welcomed the attendants and ascertained that the university seeks to develop and improve educational and sports level and  assured the importance and necessity of this Championship ; thankful all who participate in this Championship from Palestinian universities and sports institutions in Gaza.  

In his statement, Mr. Takeshi Akobo  the ambassador of Japan extends his pleasure for  visiting Al-Aqsa  University, also he  expressed his admiration for the establishment of such sports championships that develop physical and mental abilities and raise the spirit of competition among students ; and he expressed his readiness to support  the university sport federation for all activities and championships, especially women's sports ,  thankful all efforts and Praising the role of Al-Aqsa University in hosting this distinctive championship .

At the end, the winning and participated teams were honored.
