The Deanship of Community Services and Continuing Education has launched an activity for the occasion of the international day of elimination violence against women which is on the Academic Impact of the united Nation activities, starting on 25th of November to the 10th of December which is the same date of the International Day of Human Rights.

The dean of the community services and continuing learning ,Dr. Mahmoud Abu Odeh, welcomed the kind attendants giving them the greetings of the president of  Al-Aqsa University ,Dr.Kamal Al-Abed Al Shirafi, presenting his thanks to the Planning and Developing Deanship and to the Quality Assurance one represented by its dean dr. Omer Miqdad for its endeavor and efforts in offering the university the membership of the Academic Impact of the United Nations which will participate in upgrading the rank of the university in the community service field. He also sent a greeting and an appreciation to the honorable president Mahmoud Abass for his decision which calls for the change of personal status law, and joining Palestine with some specialized agencies as well as signing some agreements and protocols related to woman which is considered as an achievement and a coronation worthy of woman's struggles.

 Then, Abu Odeh emphasized the great position of woman in Islam denying the series of violence to which she is vulnerable, he also emphasized the importance of supporting and saving woman dignity pointing that the Palestinian woman is a paradigm for struggle and sacrifice  and her rights are usurped in the jails of the Israeli occupation. He also pointed that Al-Aqsa University is interested in woman through its majors that matches the ambition of the Palestinian women.

Dr.Amal Jodeh ,a psychology professor, pointed out  the objective of the meeting which is raising the awareness and creating a general opinion that can support women everywhere to make changes and oppose the whole kinds of violence that are directed against her . In addition, she shed lights on that problem and inviting the Palestinian community to continue pursuing of crucial solutions for such a problem. The professor has clarified the types of violence to which woman is subjected with its different shapes and how it is connected with the mental and behavioral disturbances which affect the woman biological and mental health ,as well as her performance as a wife or as a working woman.

The unionist and the feminist activist, Samera Abdlaleem, expressed her appreciation to the administration of the university for organizing this international day, emphasizing on the sacrifice of the Palestinian woman who proved to the whole world her ability in resisting the Zionist entity which opposed the whole international conventions and violates all of the international covenants that confirmed the human rights especially the rights of  women, appreciating at the same context the whole challenges facing the Palestinian woman related to wastage of her political ,civil ,social ,economical and health rights as a result of the siege and the political divisions , as well as, the absence of a sufficient protection at the presence of the violence performed against woman.

The chief Faten Harb also emphasized that Palestinian woman is the defender of the national project , she is also a partner in the combat and decision-making . In addition, she is responsible for saving her family and community.  She also faced violence and social oppression and she passed a lot of obstacles which are still preventing her from being a remarkable sign in the community.
